We have lived in our house since last November and it has been a constant work in progress. My MIL finally came over and lit a fire under my butt and said you need to get your house in order before the baby comes. So with her help that is what we have been doing, we ordered a new dining set, entry table, and she picked out some amazing accessories that go with the rest of the house. Today we had the electrician move some wires and a fan to the other side of our family room so the room would work better and we had the landscaper come out and he will have our backyard done by next Sunday. I also got the crib and changing table set up in the babies room and next week we are going to try and figure out a way to make the office a playroom and move the computer some place else. I feel really good about the progress we have made and I am excited to see the finished product.
I am so thankful for my MIL (Margaret) she is such a blessing to me, sometimes I don't know what I would do without her.

5 Years
It was our 5 year wedding anniversary on Friday and me and my husband had a great evening out and it was the first time that both of us got to sleep in at the same time since Alex was born. I don't have any pictures to post but I thought it would be fun to post a few from the last 5 years of our life together as Mr. and Mrs. Smith :)

1 year Checkup and Molars
Today was Alex's 1 year checkup and it went great, he is off the chart for height and in the 50Th percentile for weight. He is also getting 4 molars which the Doctor said was early to be getting them and let me tell you he has been so cranky I can not wait until they are through and I can have my happy little guy back. He has also started trying to say a few words like stinky, dog, that, yes, no no, pretzel, please and gentle. I would have to say my favorite is stinky I can't help it makes me laugh out loud.

Alex Turns One
So Sunday the 13 was my baby boys 1st birthday, I can not believe how time has flown by it seems like it wasn't that long ago that we came home with him. We had a pool party on Saturday with just a few friends and family, it was a great time. Alex got a ton of toys, I have no idea where to put them. He loved the ice cream cake I would say that was his favorite gift, that and a red ball that he has not stopped asking for since he got it, he loves this ball he woke up pointing at it this morning. He also received a double seater Radio Flyer from grandma and grandpa that he and his new brother can go for lots of rides in, we tried it out this morning and he loved riding in it....of course he was holding his new red ball:)

My first trip away
This past Thursday was the first time that I had ever left Alex over night, I went to NYC from Thursday - Sunday. I cried when my husband and Alex dropped me off at the airport but it was nice to get a break and relax a little even though I did feel like a piece of me was missing. Needless to say I am happy to be home and with my family again. Here is a picture of my boys sporting their Yankees hats.
